Completion of Bury St Edmunds Cathedral

Andrew de Mille was very pleased to be able to see the completed works at St Edmundsbury Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, at the end of July 2005. The completed works, eventually costing £12.5 million, included a new tower standing 150 feet, a new chapel and cloister linking the cathedral to the choir school and refectory. The outcome is stunningly beautiful. Andrew's work was in the early days of fundraising, helping secure major donors, setting up much of the structure and strategy which carried on to achieve the target. Half the cost was met by the Millennium Commission.
